This guide explains the materials, fabrics and yarns that define our gloves and what makes them perform in the field.
MoG Materials
Leather
Leather remains one of the most trusted materials in glove making. It adapts to temperature and environment, providing a natural balance between comfort, strength and sensitivity.
- Cow leather: Thick, robust and heat resistant. Ideal for gloves that must endure friction, moisture and wear.
- Pig leather: Recognizable by its natural pores which improve breathability, perfect for dry climates and heavy-duty use.
- Goat leather: Softer and thinner, offering flexibility, precision and excellent tactile control.
- Split leather: The inner layer of cow or pig hide with strong texture and insulation, suitable for rough conditions though less moisture resistant.
- Grain leather: The outer layer, smooth and more water resistant, often used in gloves that demand a balance between durability and weather protection.
- Sheepskin: Exceptionally soft, ideal for gloves that require sensitivity and comfort, often used in cold weather or dress models.
Synthetic Leather
Synthetic leathers combine advanced textile engineering with the look and feel of real leather. They offer consistent quality, low weight and tailored performance for specific needs.
- PU laminated: A thin polyurethane layer fused to polyester or polyamide for durability, water repellence and enhanced grip.
- PU blended: Polyurethane fibres mixed with synthetics for a soft, breathable finish that remains flexible even in cold conditions.
- Microfibre synthetics: Designed for precision and grip, providing a long-lasting tactile surface with minimal bulk
Our in-house engineered materials
- ArmaSuede: Our strongest and most abrasion-resistant synthetic suede, engineered entirely in-house. Only 0.8 mm thin, yet outperforming all other suedes in durability tests. It provides a firm, dry grip with unmatched resistance to wear, even after extensive use in tactical and rescue environments.
- DexSuede: A softer, 0.6 mm performance suede that wraps naturally around the hand. It delivers a second-skin feel with precise weapon control and great comfort. Designed for dexterity and sensitivity, it redefines what synthetic suede can achieve.
Both Arma Suede and DexSuede represent our drive to develop materials that merge technology, comfort and performance into one.

NeoCot antimicrobial fabric
NeoCot is a textile innovation that integrates copper-based yarns for naturally antimicrobial performance. In gloves, a NeoCot liner delivers enhanced hygiene, reduced odour build-up and long-wear freshness when operations stretch over weeks or involve shared use. This fabric performs especially well for professionals operating in hot, multi-user or medical-adjacent settings.
D3O® Impact protection technology
D3O® is a game-changing material in impact protection. In its resting state the material remains soft and flexible; however, under high force it instantly stiffens to absorb and dissipate energy. In glove applications, D3O® panels or inserts on the back-of-hand or fingers deliver up to 50 %+ improved impact dissipation compared with standard protection solutions. For operators who demand true protection without sacrificing dexterity, D3O® sets a new benchmark.
Impacton foam & airgel solutions
Impacton has developed next-level shock and vibration absorbing foams (such as Airgel foam) tailored for gloves. These materials combine soft, flexible memory-foam feel with high impact resilience and compliance with European standards. When used on knuckles, fingers or palm impact zones, Impacton materials deliver protection during repeated collisions or heavy handling tasks.
Solarcore® advanced aerogel insulation
Solarcore® develops ultra-thin aerogel composite insulation, originally derived from NASA-licensed technology. Their materials offer exceptional thermal performance with minimal bulk and compression loss, outperforming many traditional insulation systems by more than 50 % in R-value under similar thickness. In cold weather gloves, this means you stay warm without sacrificing mobility or tactile control, even in extreme climates.
Hipora® waterproof/breathable membrane
Hipora is a high-performance microporous film membrane that blocks liquid water while allowing water vapour to escape. It is commonly used as an insert in professional gloves to ensure hands stay dry in wet, cold or aquatic environments. With a multi-layer structure, Hipora membranes deliver reliable waterproofing, breathability and durability in demanding settings.
Polyurethane (PU)
PU is lightweight and flexible, used as a coating on knitted liners and technical fabrics.
It provides reliable dry and wet grip, resists oil absorption and remains soft in low temperatures. PU-coated surfaces often simulate the fine texture of leather for improved control.
PVC (Polyvinyl Chloride)
PVC coatings offer strong grip and resistance to chemicals and moisture.
They perform well in oily or greasy environments and protect against a wide range of water-soluble substances. PVC gloves are highly durable, though less breathable than nitrile or PU alternatives.
Nitrile
Nitrile is a synthetic rubber known for its durability and chemical resistance.
It performs in dry, wet and oily conditions and maintains flexibility over time. Foamed nitrile adds breathability, while micro-foam nitrile enhances comfort and oil grip. Nitrile is often used in tactical gloves for its perfect balance between toughness and comfort.
Latex
Latex is a natural rubber with high elasticity, strong grip and tear resistance.
It provides reliable performance in both dry and wet conditions, but natural proteins in latex can cause allergies. It is mainly used for applications where grip and flexibility are more critical than chemical resistance.
Neoprene (Chloroprene)
Neoprene offers protection against oils, acids and extreme temperatures.
It insulates well and retains flexibility in cold or wet environments, making it ideal for marine, firefighting and tactical winter operations.
TPR - Thermoplastic Rubber
ErgoShield, our own TPR development, represents a breakthrough in hand protection.
TPR (Thermoplastic Rubber) is a lightweight yet impact-absorbing material, often applied on the back of tactical or rescue gloves to protect against bumps and abrasions.
With ErgoShield, we redefined TPR engineering: ergonomically shaped panels that follow hand movement so naturally you barely feel them. It protects without stiffness, ensuring the glove feels free, balanced and precise, protection built into the glove, not sitting on top of it.
Cotton
Cotton is natural, breathable and heat resistant. It is often used as lining material to improve comfort and moisture absorption. Cotton does not melt when exposed to heat, making it ideal for welding or firefighting linings.
Coatings
Knitted or hybrid gloves can be coated with various materials to adjust grip and durability.
- Palm dipped: Coating on the palm for better grip and ventilation.
- Knuckle dipped: Coating extended to protect fingers and knuckles.
- Fully dipped: Coating covers the entire glove for maximum protection.
- Fingertip coated: Added precision for touch-based tasks.
- Palm dots: Micro coatings that boost friction for fine grip control.
High-performance fibers
Modern gloves use engineered yarns for strength, comfort and protection.
- Kevlar: Aramid fiber known for exceptional cut and heat resistance.
- Nomex: Flame-resistant aramid that withstands extreme temperatures.
- Dyneema: Ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) offering unmatched cut and abrasion resistance while remaining light.
- PBI Gold: Premium aramid used in high-heat environments such as firefighting.
- Cordura: Durable nylon-based fabric used for reinforcements and outer shells.
- Spandex / Elastane: Adds stretch and flexibility for improved fit and dexterity.
- Coolmax: Keeps hands dry by actively wicking moisture away from the skin.
- Thinsulate: Lightweight insulation for superior warmth without bulk.
- Carbon and metal fiber blends: Provide anti-static and touch conductivity in electronic and tactical gloves.
- High-density microfleece: Soft lining that retains heat and comfort without reducing dexterity.
- Softshell laminates: Breathable, windproof and water-repellent composite materials perfect for cold or variable weather.
Thread and stitching
Durability often comes down to the stitching. Masters of Gloves uses only premium threads:
- Kevlar thread: For high-strength seams in cut and flame-resistant gloves.
- Nylon thread: Resistant to mildew and weather, ideal for outdoor use.
- Polyester thread: Strong, UV-resistant and stable under heat or moisture.
- Cotton yarn: Adds comfort and softness, mainly used in liners or inner seams.
- Bonded threads: Improve seam longevity and prevent fraying under tension.
